Can you post the contents of your current environment file ? Note that this 
file gets overwritten when you update GnuCash, so perhaps your change has been 
undone by accident ?

And perhaps there is also a hint in the GnuCash trace file that explains why 
this didn't work. See 
http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Windows#Error_messages.2C_Trace_file to learn 
where you find the trace file.
