I found the source of the error:
GLib-GIO:ERROR:/build/buildd/glib2.0-2.28.6/./gio/gdbusconnection.c:2279:initable_init
I started gnucash as root. I gained access to root with "su root", which
gives root NO graphical access. Running "su --login root" does. Starting
gnucash now gives the same error as starting it as a normal user:
On the xterm is says:
gnc.bin-Message: main: binreloc relocation support was disabled at
configure time.
And briefly the gnucash logo pops up.
No more.
