Purchase stock - expense vouchers?

The GnuCash vouchers lend themselves to employee reimbursement situations,
but aren't suited to the common small business situation where business and
personal transactions are occasionally intermixed. Say, for instance, that
you buy a nice gift pen for Uncle George while stocking up on business
office supplies. Rather than ringing up separate transactions at the cast
register, you charge the pen on the business card. In this example, the
business essentially must be "reimbursed" for a personal transaction, but
using the voucher method would be a rather tortured approach.

Lloyd--

I am not an accountant, but I see the following thread from a little while
back:

That thread to my eye very tersely summarizes how to handle your situation.

Perhaps others will give you a better answer.

David

A simple question from a beginner.

I'm trying to move my wifes small business over to gnucash from the
spreadsheet she currently uses.  Basically, all manufacturing material is
purchased by her or myself, and then we reimburse ourselves from petty cash.

Would I be correct to do this through expense vouchers?

Supplementary questions  - what is the Billing Id used for on an expense
voucher?

Thanks

Lloyd
