Gnucash versions

Is it possible to go straight from 2.2.9 to 2.4.x without going through
intermediate versions?

Assuming I do this, and import my current GnuCash file into the database,
will it be straightforward to view an earlier backup of my GnuCash file
(e.g. going back to the situation before a "Year Close").

Is there a simple way of carrying forward custom settings such as budgets
(i.e. identifying which of the associated files I have modified for my own
purposes and which are the standard issue for the package). I've been using
GnuCash for eighteen months now, and I've lost track of settings I've
changed.

If you decide to make the upgrade, David, could you report back here on how
you've done it, and record any glitches?

TIA

foxy
