can't open gnucash file

You have to try and remember where it was that you saved the gnucash
accounts file the first time you clicked Save after doing the initial
import.  Then you have to open that file.  The fact that the file
above (Joint Personal Checking...) appears in the file list suggests
it may have been that, but it looks as if it has gone for some reason.
 Have a look in the file explorer to see if that directory exists and
what is in it.  If it is the directory where the accounts file should
be it will probably have a lot of .xac files in there, which are the
gnucash backup files.

The other possibility is to use find or locate or whatever is the
equivalent for your operating system to look for *.gnucash files to
see if you can find it elsewhere.

Also if you take backups of your disk or home directories (hopefully
you do, you never know when a disk is going to go up in smoke,
metaphorically if not literally) then you may be able to find it
there.
