Automatic VAT assignment or similar, like in kMymoney?

I do these in the register, as Gnucash copes with the calculations
so I put in the initial description and then put 12.87/100*81 in the
amount column

I'm sure some better automation would be good, and we'll be invited to
either contribute code, or carefully document how the code should
work .......
