Hi Avery,
Tempting, very tempting. Currently, I do the entire financial
accounting for our church in WI. using GNUcash and LibreOffice, however
on a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7. You mention that you need payroll.
GNU does not do the tax withholding calculations, nor print payroll
checks with check stub information. For that I use LibreOffice Calc
spreadsheet software. You CAN create all the different accounts and
sub-accounts for payroll in GNUcash, including benefits and
withholdings. In fact GNUcash does a very nice job of creating a
payroll register. GNUcash has a very limited recording for employees.
Originally, I used Peachtree Complete Accounting. However, I just
can't afford to constantly pay hundreds of dollars for yearly upgrades
for the software, hundreds of dollars for support and hundreds of
dollars for yearly payroll tax updates. THAT'S NUTS!!!!
