Just to give you my experience: I do many installs/uninstalls of GnuCash on my
Windows test system (and updating to 2.4.10 will involve an automatic
uninstall). At each install, the GnuCash "Start menu item" is properly added
by the installer. I have just tested it a couple of minutes ago.
There is an option in one of the installer pages to disable this start menu
installation. Is this enabled when you install ?
Also, I usually explicitly uninstall before running the installer (old habit).
I don't know if that would make any difference compared to let the installer
run an automatic uninstall.
