New Account file creation

For information about exporting, take a look at: http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/FAQ#Q:_How_can_I_export_data.3F

As for the Scheduled Transactions, I believe that they (like the Business pieces) are not ex/im-portable.

All of which raises the point that also comes up with these discussions, which is to ask whether it is truly necessary for you to open a new file on the new year. Keeping the history in one file and using reports to create required accounting documentation seems to be the recommended method with Gnucash.

Good luck!
David

Subject: Re: New Account file creation

I would actually like to start the new file off from a date already gone
(e.g. 1st January). I have created the account hierarchy as suggested and
used the Balance Sheet to set up the opening balances.
Is it now possible to export all the transactions since that date as a log
file or other format so that I can import them into the new file?  Export
opportunities look very limited unless I am missing something.

Is it possible to also transfer the scheduled transaction information?

Thanks
Norman B
