multi-currency support

I have a couple of foreign currency (EUR) bank accounts and foreign
currency income, which I have not accounted for in GnuCash so far.

I would need two types of exchange rate:

1) When I transfer from EUR to GBP bank account, I need to apply the
price I am actually getting from the banks.

2) For tax purposes, I need to apply a notional exchange rate
to account for income in GBP.

Presumably I would distinguish between the two rate types using a
different "Type" in the price editor?

So far I have done my tax calculations manually in a spreadsheet using
the daily exchange rates from http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/

I presume the best way to do this would be to record the EUR interest
against a GBP Income account and apply that day's exchange rate to the
transaction.

I had a look at the GnuCash manual
http://svn.gnucash.org/docs/guide/currency_howto1.html
and I notice retrieval of quotes can be done via GnuCash.
Where does "Get Quotes" retrieve the exchanges rates from?
