Can GNU Cash keep track of expenses of multiple businesses?

The OFX DirectConnect in GnuCash can only pull from the bank -- you
cannot initiate transactions.  Only HBCI (which is pretty much only in
Germany) allows initiation of transactions from GnuCash.
