Change the directory where log files are stored?

Jeff,

You could shortcut or link to your actual data files, putting your
shortcuts or links on the start menu or desktop. Opening a particular
set of books then becomes a one-click matter. I'm a Gnome user, so I use
*.desktop files, but I'm sure every platform has equivalent
functionality.
