How do I set opening balance in checking account

Under Assets -> Current Assets, I have an account called Checking
Account. How do I set opening balance for that? If I open this
checking account and put $1,000 in Deposit, it shows transfer as
Imbalance. I have also tried to edit the checking account but there
seem no place to put the opening balance.

Gnucash version 2.4.11 on OS X Mountain Lion.
