Future transactions not showing on Checking Tab

Correction:  Gnucash will not allow me to enter ANY new transactions in my
checking tab.  It works for the others.  I am not a neophyte so please don't
give me basic instructions on how to enter a transaction please.  Thanks in
advance for the help!
