I'm reminded of a talk I attended about the development of C++. The speaker
said that he had heard "Bjarne Stroustrup" pronounced several different ways
and was curious to know the correct pronunciation. He managed to get
Stroustrup's telephone number. To his surprise, Stroustrup himself answered
with, "Hello, this is Bjarne Stroustrup." The speaker said that he responded
with, "You just answered my question."
