Windows 7 to Ubuntu

Hello folks,

I am considering moving over to Ubuntu and wanted to explore how easy it was
to migrate GNU cash from Win 7.

There's a few threads I found with different searches but nothing directly
answering the Q'.

Is it a case of exporting to a QIF or similar format or can the files be
read directly if copied over as mentioned here
