Transfer of money from different gnu cash files

Hi,

I live in "two worlds": I have all my assets in Europe and created a gnu
cash file with all my incomes, expenses, assets etc. I have/had in Europe.

However, a year ago I moved to the US where I have more or less
"separated" expenses, incomes etc. I created a separate GNU cash file
for that. My "main assets" are still in Europe and will stay there
because I am in the US "only" for working throught the year.

However, now it may happen that I buy stuff with my European
account/credit card which I need in my US life and the other way round.
For this, I virtually need to "transfer" money between my EU and US gnu
cash file.

I created "Expenses:ToUS" in the European file and "Equity:EU Transfer"
in the US file. Is this a good approach? Or should I use different
account types for that?

The first problem is now: In the US, I want to have a pie chart where
the money I am using comes from. But when I use "Income Piechart" it
never includes Equity and I found no report type for that. So I am not
sure if I do the right thing.

Thanks for any hints ...

Luke
