monthly rent, one annual payment

Hello, 

I'm new to gnucash. I like it so far. Purchased the book by AR.
Accural based.
I started the biz in february. Rent is $5 a month, but the only
payment is at the end of the check (check for $55). How to 
I allocate $5 per month to the previous 11 months of rent?
