I am using Windows 7 64 bit and while I do manage updates manually, I
have not had any problem with them interfering with GnuCash. We often
forget that computers in general are susceptible to random errors caused
by cosmic rays (remember those?) and other mysterious events. Modern
error detection and correction procedures catch most of them, but
sometimes not. Since the re-install worked, just keep your fingers
crossed except when typing.
