Column Widths Not being saved

Mike--

As the original reporter on the bug you cite, I'll note my concern there was with the balance column. I seem to believe that I hadn't been seeing this behavior with other columns (like the check number column), but perhaps I've simply overlooked this behavior--or found some way previously not to encounter it with other columns?

I see that the tentative release date for 2.6 is October; I don't particularly expect to use the unstable version for my daily personal use.
