Account reports for date range

Hi, all,

Using Gnucash 2.4.10

It seems to me that there should be a way to print an account report with a
given date range.  For example, I select my Liabilities:State Sales Tax
register, and then Menu > Reports > Account Report .   This opens up a new
tab, with roughly the items I want, but it covers the entire period since I
started using Gnucash.   I'd like it only to cover a single year.

Clicking on the Edit Report Options brings up a dialog box which gives some
control of the display, but doesn't allow setting a date range.  In fact,
changing Menu > Edit > Preferences > Accounting Period  to reflect a single
year doesn't change things either.

I suspect I'm looking in the wrong place:  what is the right place?
