How prevent auto open of last file?

Or a fourth one: this is a slight variation on Derek's second 
suggestion. Make shortcuts to your files and store them in a location 
convenient for you (like the desktop or quick launcher below). You can 
then double-click (or click in the launcher) on the shortcuts to open 
the proper file.
