I have a LOT more than two sets of books so this "feature" was for me a
real nuisance.

Folks here were a great help explaining how to open gnucash with the
"nofile" parameter passed under Windows (then you get to pick which set
of books you want to open from the menu list - can explain how to add to
this list later if you don't already know how).

But I'm running Windows XP so there might be some slight difference.
Under XP all I had to do was open the shortcut with a right click so I
could see the target line (what is going to be loaded for execution) and
edit that to add " --nofile" (a space followed by two hyphens and the
parameter "nofile"). It might be the same under 7 but if not, presumably
somebody using 7 can explain any difference).
