GnuCash config files location (again)

Steve--

You don't say whether you actually added the reports to your custom reports. Did you?

If you didn't add the report (by first creating a unique name for the report and then clicking the Add button on the toolbar), then Gnucash will not have actually created the report and stored it in the fie system.

If you have done this, then you might be having troubles due to the Windows user name you have chosen ("Stephen R. Miller"). I imagine that the spaces and the period in the name might play havoc with gconf.

Subject: GnuCash config files location (again)

The more I look at some of the older posts on the topic, the more confused I
get!  Ok, so...

1. I'm using Windows 7;

2. I'm using GnuCash 2.4.11, copy was built from svn r22268 on 2012-07-15;

3. My GnuCash data files are located in c:\users\Stephen R.
Miller\desktop\SteveSS\GnuCash_Data

4. I believe my various GnuCash config files are in C:\users\Stephen R.
Miller (I say that cause I note some of the gnucash config files there,
reflect today's date, presumably when I made some modifications to the
preferences in GnuCash

5. I created some custom reports.  When I close down GnuCash and bring it
back up, the custom reports are still there, eg open, however, they do NOT
appear on the toolbar list when I go to Reports, Custom Reports.  Also, and
perhaps more importantly, after doing an entire search on my computer, there
is NO file called saved-reports-2.4 that bear today's date.

So:

1. Why am I not seeing my newly created custom reports when I go to the
toolbar, click on Reports, then custom reports?

2. Why am not finding any saved-reports-2.4 file which I understand from
past posts here, is the file that contains the custom reports?  Obviously
it's being saved somewhere, as the custom reports appear when I bring up
Gnucash (obviously, I don't dare close them!)

3. In previous posts there was mention of a gnucash batch files that sets
the environment for the home directory.  I find no such gnucash related
batch file anywhere on my computer.

4. So I'd like to know (a) how to save my custom reports so they appear on
the custom report list off the toolbar; and (b) better understanding of how
to set the default directory for location of all of my gnucash config files
(not the data file which I totally get).

Thanks!  :)
