Stocks, advanced portfolio and multi-currency

The stock's price's currency is implicit, based on the currency of its
parent brokerage account. Most likely your MDA.TO stock account's
parent is denoted in USD and not CAD. This means that all the existing
transactions in that account would also be wrong, denoted in USD, not
CAD. That would explain the results you see.
You will need to delete all the transactions in the account, fix your
account hierarchy, and then re-enter all your buy/sell transactions in
the stock account.
