Cheers Derek, you are of course correct.

You will be glad to hear all working as should. Just to confirm, its the
third line in this tutorial that creates the debit side of the transaction
from your bank account. 

I iniitally thought the first line where it makes the price/shares
clacluation which in then recorded under 

*Investment/brokers/Etrade/IBM*

would enter the debit making a duplicate. Of course all this does is to
record this under the 'IBM' account and not the brokerage account.

*8.5.2. Buying New Shares

The only difference between setting up a new stock purchase versus the setup
for preexisting stocks as described in the previous section is that instead
of transferring the money used to purchase the stock from the Equity:Opening
Balance account, you use your Assets:Bank ABC account.*
