Main File Name & Location

Using Dropbox as a file location works fairly good, as it is very quick,
it can put the lock files on other computers fast enough that you will
rarely have a problem being logged in on two computers and then
competing for updated file writes, in the event that did happen, it
writes (conflicted copy from mycomputername) in the filename, and both
files will be available on both computers, a pain, but easy enough to
work out, and better to know than find out after weeks of entering data
and realizing the loss.

In the event there is corruption in your file, cat on the keyboard, or
whatever, you can always roll back to a previous version as Dropbox will
keep copies of every write, they claim forever, not sure how long that
is.. this is additional protection to the backups that GnuCash keeps,
for me every 5 minutes, a bit paranoid..

Another Dropbox friendly feature (Linux, at least for now) is coming in
the new version, when opening the gnucash file, the bottom status bar
will give information about the last time the file was changed. Helpful
if opening on your home computer and wondering if it is up to date.
