File Location

When setting up Gnucash on my Mac, I made the location to save on my
desktop, when I intended it to be in a file on my desktop.  Endless files
are placed on the workspace, and when slid into the folder, it will then
not allow me to open the application.  How can I rename the location to
save the files as they are updated???  Can't find the steps in the help
document.
