I'm having a different problem with FinanceQuote Update. I've copied it
from the .dmg to Applications. If I then try to run it from Applications
with Gatekeeper set to "Mac App Store and identified developers", I get
" FinanceQuote Update is damaged and can't be opened" popup, and I get
an error message in system.log:
Oct 25 13:45:10 Cambyses kernel[0]: exec of
/Volumes/Gnucash-Intel-2.4.13/FinanceQuote
Update.app/Contents/MacOS/applet denied since it was quarantined by
Firefox and created without user consent, qtn-flags was 0x00000006
Oct 25 13:45:10 Cambyses com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[271]
([0x0-0x82082].FinanceQuote Update[2645]): Job failed to exec(3) for
weird reason: 1
If I set Gatekeeper to Anywhere and run FQU from Applications, I get the
expected popup saying: "FinanceQuote Update is an application created by
Firefox. Are you sure you want to open it?" At the same time I get this
in system.log:
Oct 25 13:53:12 Cambyses kernel[0]: exec of /Applications/FinanceQuote
Update.app/Contents/MacOS/applet denied since it was quarantined by
Firefox and created without user consent, qtn-flags was 0x00000006
Oct 25 13:53:12 Cambyses com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[271]
([0x0-0x8c08c].FinanceQuote Update[2699]): Job failed to exec(3) for
weird reason: 1
Oct 25 13:53:12 Cambyses.local loginwindow[40]: ERROR | -[Application
setAppContext:] | Unable to get PID for context [0,573580]
Oct 25 13:53:12 Cambyses.local Dock[285]: no information back from LS
about running process LSASN:{hi=0x0;lo=0x8c08c}
If I click on Open in the "Are you sure you want to open it?" popup, I get:
Oct 25 13:53:18 Cambyses kernel[0]: CoreServicesUIAg[2697] Unable to
quarantine: 93
Oct 25 13:53:18 Cambyses.local CoreServicesUIAgent[2697]: Unable to
continue stopped application -- error -600
And nothing happens. No terminal window with the update script running
in it, nothing.
I installed Finance::Quote and other modules listed in gnc-fq-update by
hand using cpan from the Terminal command line, and they all load OK in
perl (using perl -MFinance::Quote), and Get Quotes now works.
OK, I could have just run sudo gnc-fq-update from the command line, but
I wanted to see how the individual modules loaded.
Anyone have any idea about the quarantine error?
Peter
