Which Accounts to record unpaid salaries to Employees?

Hi,

You should not see any Imbalance-HKD, that means that the transaction you have 
entered is not correct and GnuCash creates the Imbalance transaction 
automatically to make the transaction balance when you record it.

I suspect that you have got one of the splits in the wrong column, or an 
account type set wrongly.  Can you send a screen grab of the transaction in 
question?
