I spent over a year learning GNU Cash - but was worth every second.
Firstly, I purchased the book for small businesses. It provided me with about 80% of everything I needed.
Then there was Youtube, and that helped a little.
Finally I made a test copy of the file before attempting anything uncertain.
Fourth - I use Linux Mint as my OS - this eliminates a host of problems I see posted daily.
Fifth, I put GNU Cash into its own special folder - and so far it has been a smooth ride.
I officially began January 1, 2014.
I can't understany why big cities like Los Angeles doesn't have a dedicated users group.

So frustrated right now. Installed program several months ago and started
work, then big lag in time.
Started tutorial today step by step.
Got to part to save my file. Good grief! Bad instructions on what name to
give, why, or where. Or, create new folder? Each time? or just once for
my accounting (personal, not business).
Kept getting message couldn't write to ? and/or permission required. No
permission, I am the only one that uses this thing!
I uninstalled, hunted for any file *gnu* search, and deleted those.
Reinstalled, but did not get opening window warning that program
instructions mention for "new installation". Tried to save, got same thing.
This is not cool. Can't find help on this issue.
