Transaction report exchange rates

Hi all,
I've recently been working on some paperwork for filing corporate tax
in the US and the bookkeeper asked for a profit & loss report and then
for the same but with all the transactions listed as well.
I generated a transaction report for the latter, but the totals didn't
match up. Eventually, I figured out that the transaction report seemed
to be using an exchange rate that didn't match any of the options
which can be selected for the profit & loss report.
I'm using GnuCash 2.6.1 in which the transaction report does not have
an option to select which exchange rate to use, while the profit &
loss report does. Any recommendations on how to work around it?
For now, I figured out the exchange rate from the transaction report
and used that for the profit & loss (it's not significantly off from
the current exchange rate), but the numbers are still a few cents off
as the exchange rate setting does not have enough precision.
Does anyone know which exchange rate is used in transaction reports or
have any better suggestions for workarounds?
All the best,
Kat
