Similar GNU cash program needed

Ian, I also loaded 2.6.1 onto the latest Ubuntu distro 14.04 LTS.

Definitely smoother and less clunky although the splash screen did freeze a
couple of times during install. 

I spent a bit of time yesterday changing the theme settings. I ended up with
an uncompressed file and 'Clearlooks' as the theme, 'Calibre Oblique 12' as
the font.

It maybe just me, but this seems have worked narrowing the gap. There's
still a small lag switching back to the account tab but barely noticeable.
