Report Issue

I am using GnuCash v 2.4.11 and it has served me well since I set it up in 2012.  Now I’m trying to prepare reports for 2013 and certain reports like General Ledger or Account Report (which is the list of transactions for a certain account) loads all transactions since set-up rather than the range I specify in Preferences.  Last year my reports showed transactions for the year 2012.  This year they show transactions for 2012-2013.  My preferences specify the range as absolute 1/1/2013 through 12/31/2013 and relative 1/1/2013 through 12/31/2013.  My Income Statement picks that up and so does my balance sheet.  The  General Ledger and Account Report doesn’t nor does the Trial Balance.  What can I do to get my reports to only pick up 2013 information?  I’m not a techie but just a user that wants desperately for GnuCash to be the answer to my accounting needs.  This is the first “problem” I’ve encountered in the 2 years I’ve used the program.
