It sounds from this like you are able to resize the description column so that you can see what you need. Good. I wonder whether the new column width appears when you reconcile again?

If so, I wonder if the problem has to do with the new preferences system--perhaps it defaults to sizing columns to the maximum text? Once the columns get resized, maybe the problem goes away too...
