Need help for simple cash flow entries and simple ledger printout

I am treasurer for a small club and don't need to use double entry for 
our financial records all I need is straight cash flow and printouts for 
the ledger that looks much like the bank statement. Is there a way I can 
use gnucash for such a simple procedure? If so, are there guidelines for 
the simple-minded like me.
Thanks.
In all other respects, I believe gnucash is great, although a little 
overkill for our use and purposes.
