This sounds like you need to find out why you can't seem to get the
"Transaction Report" to work for you. Note this cannot be a matter of
need to upgrade if the rest of us have this report working. << the fact
that the particular ledger accounts you are interested in are a subset
of expense accounts isn't relevant --- it is the GENERAL CASE "do this
for ANY selection of accounts that appears to be giving you trouble. I
suggest you first work on solving the problem of getting the Transaction
Report to work (for all accounts, full date range). Then you learn how
to specify limiting this to just some subset of the accounts and for a
specified date range and subtotaled and totaled the way you want. And
even how to retitled the report to "Expense Report" <<note, retitling is
different than renaming>>

And why aren't you? Are you (also) not seeing the balances of every
other account in your ledger? I find it hard to believe you are seeing
the account balances of all other accounts but not ones you call credit
card accounts. That would be bizarre.
