Hi Richard,

I'm not sure of the impact of installing ActiveState Perl over the top of
Strawberry Perl but if perl -V still works ok for you it's probably not an
issue...

Now bear in mind I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit so if you're running
Windows 7 it may be a bit different...

If you go to Control Panel >> Advanced System Settings and click on
Environment Variables you should see a couple of panels listing your User
variables and System variables...

One of the System variables should be your PATH - mine is as follows - the
bit we are interested in is the C:\Perl64\site\bin;C:\Perl64\bin; at the
beginning of the contents - it should point to your Perl installation in
C:\Perl64 - so check that.

C:\Perl64\site\bin;C:\Perl64\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program
Files\Microsoft\Web Platform Installer\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
ASP.NET\ASP.NET Web Pages\v1.0\;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\110\Tools\Binn\;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\110\DTS\Binn\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL
Server\110\Tools\Binn\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL
Server\110\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\;C:\Program Files
(x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Binn\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows
Kits\8.1\Windows Performance Toolkit\

I'm encouraged by the fact that you said that perl -V was working for you
so I think it's probably ok, but if you ever need to re-run the "Install
Online Price Retrieval" again keep an eye on the install and see if
Strawberry Perl gets installed for you - if so no need to also install
Active State Perl.

Cheers Dave H.
