Help me to restore to another laptop

Dear Gnu Cash Team-Good Morning ,


My Name is sami & I am active user of Gnu Cash

It is one of the best personal finance handler I've ever came across.



I am using this as a personal finance managing (not a company or sole
trading-general personal using only)

Actullay i am using this from almost a year.

& I installed this software in my laptop



& now I want to change or get new laptop

I used to take backups regularly for gnucash also.



Now am facing problem how to restore the same data to a new laptop

I have installed gnucash there as well but am worrying how to restore there

In new laptop(windows) -what are proper steps, if restored properly should
I'll be able to continue the same software

Where would be my backup file directory (means backup file locations) ...etc



Version 2.4.11 (currently using)


can i switch to newer version 2.6.1 ? would it be same or better

means in installation would be the same or difference?


please which version to installed & how to restore & how to re-continue
backing up the files.



Can you please assist me in this regard .

I would be very thankfull to you or your full team.
