selecting a date range for a budget report

You can set the date range within the budget - in Budget Options there are
settings for the Budget Period.
Set this to whatever you want - e.g. for your Jan-Mar report set it to every
1 month beginning on 1st Jan and number of periods = 3.
You can save different budgets with different date ranges, then in the
Budget Report, select whichever budget you like to see.
