GNUcash closes when I press Caps Lock

Hi all,

wonder if you can help, as it is driving my a bit barmy.

GNUcash closes whenever I press CapsLock more than once (which as its 
close to Tab is bloody irritating) and also closes if I hit two keys 
together or ask it to do a sum that creates a minus number.

I'm trying to do someones accounts before the filing deadline, (I use 
the keyboard a lot) and it keeps crashing with out saving so have to 
re-enter the last 8 or 9 transactions

help please
