2.6.3 from GetDeb crashing on Ubuntu 14.04

Hello folks

I wanted to upgrade my desktop to Ubuntu 14.4.1 which is currently on my
laptops. Only hitch is GNU Cash which Ubuntu package manager  still insists
on installing 2.6.1

I tried the getdeb installer too, but it launches Ubuntu installer which
installs the old version.

Any help on how to get 2.6.3 on my machine - thanks
