Actually, not Yahoo's policy setting is not set to 'drop it on the floor'
(discard), Yahoo's policy setting is set to 'reject': eg 'return to sender'.

Google actually does NOT enforce Yahoo's setting to *reject* it. Google drops
it on the floor: Google is treating a 'reject' policy as a 'discard' policy.
Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, and some others *do* reject it, generally back to the
list server (Mailman), which then marks the 'hapless' Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail,
etc. users with a 'bounce', and after enough of these bounces, the 'hapless'
Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, etc. users get mail delivery suspended from the list (at
which point they stop receiving all posts to the list). Yahoo has set this
(very extreme) policy because they have an on-going problem with spammers
using .*@yahoo.com addresses and/or breaking into Yahoo accounts and stealing
address books, etc.

Right. AOL, Hotmail, and a few other 'freemail' servers are almost as bad.
*Some* Mailman list admins have gone to the level of *banning* .*@yahoo.com
address from subscribing to their lists.

It is pretty much necessary if you are going to let people with Yahoo.com
E-Mail subscribe and post to the list: one either turns on the DMARC hackery
in Mailman or bans *@Yahoo.com subscribers...
