i am grateful to Manoj kumar  who solved this problem for me two years ago.
The solution is you add / replace the perl modules IciciDirect.pm,
NseIndia.pm,and IndiaMutual.pm and SymbolTranslation.pm in your perl
/site/lib/finance/quote/ directory using the attached modules. I do not
know if attachments are allowed on this board, so if you cannot access them
please contact me or manoj kumar.
My Windows version of Gnucash 2.6.6 runs fine and is able to retrieve
quotes from BSE and NSE without problems using icicidirect symbols for
stocks
