android import

Paul,

This works well for me although I'm using Dropbox because it's a lot more
convenient than doing it any other way, although finding the file is
sometimes a challenge :-)

Be aware that you can actually import your normal compressed Gnucash XML
data file into the app and you will be able to see all your normal accounts
and also the transactions in the file. The accounts import only supports
XML file import as far as I'm aware.

If I understand correctly your issue seems to be that you have copied your
accounts structure file to the SD card in your android
phone/tablet/whatever but the import is unable to find it for you using
some third party file browser that you are using - presumably the built in
one ?

I'm running Android 4.4.2 on a Samsung Galaxy Pro tab and have no issues
using both ASTRO File Manager and ES File Explorer to import the accounts
structure and transactions. Perhaps you should install and try one of
these - if you have more than 1 file explorer installed you get prompted
which one you want to use.

Also make sure you are selecting the correct SDCard folder - my system has
multiple sdcard - internal and external - very confusing sometimes. Have
you got other files on the sdcard and can you browse to the folder and see
these other files to make sure you are navigating to the correct folder ???

Cheers Dave H.
