Thanks for finding this. It's one of the "dark corners" we keep warning about with the SQL backends. You can either continue to change it in SQL directly or you can do a File>Save As when you make a change like that, which forces GC to flush everything to the database.

I've opened https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=742461 to track it, and I'll get it fixed for 2.6.6.
