Currency Issue

I have a bank account that has both HKD (primary currency) and CNY.  I
entered an income:interest for 9.79 CNY and it doubled my total my total
bank amount.  I remove the interest transaction and the balance returns
to the correct amount.  This is on a Mint Linux Debian Editions with
2.4.13 GC.  I tried this transaction on my Macbook pro with lastest OS
updates and 2.4 15 GC and it works as it should.  Appreciate any
assistance. I am very confused as I have made these transactions in the
past without issues although CNY does not roll up to HKD.
