Split transaction problem

I have a problem is with a split transaction;

If I refers to fig 4.1 in the manual as an example the situation is
this:   The transaction is suppose to be "close" (I'm trying to
translate from french)

I can see Employers R Us with the amount 670.00

BUT I can also see Expenses:Taxes:Federal   (without entry)
                          Expenses:Taxes:Medicare (Without entry)

So the balance in my bank account is still Ok (unchanged by the Taxes
lines.

Other split transactions don't offer this behavior

Is there a way to delete or hide those two lines without affecting the
split transaction ?
