How to record money "temporarily loaned" to a club or business

ISTM the loan relationship is between the benefactor and the 
beneficiary. The usual way that’s handled in my experience is that you 
invoice the benefactor and he takes the invoice to the beneficiary for 
reimbursement. Why would you want to get in the middle of that process?

That's the way it is done with one of the organizations for which I am 
treasurer and this situation frequent.

Somebody pays for the stuff on the spot, then sends me the invoice 
marked paid, the receipt, whatever (*) and I cut them a reimbursement check.

* Ideally having made copies to save me doing that. Triplicate allows me 
to send one back to them with the check, file one for our records, and 
if we have a grant that would apply to this expense, one for the grant 
giving organization to demonstrate funds used for a qualified purpose.
