transaction report error

I posted a more detailed report, #749602, on Bugzilla, back on 19 May,
complete with illustrative screenshots. It has not drawn so much as a
comment, so either it has been overlooked, or the matter is not of interest.

Using GC 2.6.5 on Win 7/64, the problem is: When a transaction report
has 2 or more entries made on the same date, usually (not always) the
lines of the report for that single date are presented in an improper
order, rendering the running balances invalid. Once beyond the troubled
area, the balances are correct again.

We have one such date with three transactions, all of which have
(cheque) numbers. Those numbers are listed in descending order, unlike
the dates, which are ascending, and which appear to be the primary sort
control. We would expect that the cheque number would be the secondary
sort, and it doesn't appear to be anything else (not alphabetic by
description, nor by amount).

I don't see that there are any controls available that would have
allowed me to inadvertently distort these reports in this manner.

Any enlightenment will be appreciated.

I have looked through the fixes listed for 2.6.6 vs 2.6.5, and haven't
seen anything pertinent.
